Handler of the Month

For over twenty years, US K9 Unlimited has provided thousands of quality dogs to law enforcement and government agencies around the world.  Our unique ability to match a great dog with the proper handler is what makes us specialists in assembling the ideal team.  This page is dedicated to our successful teams who are out in the field on a daily basis keeping their communities safe.  This is an open invitation to any handler who has been through our training program to be spotlighted as handler of the month.  Please submit a photograph and story behind any illegal activity that was stopped or of any acts of heroism. If you do not have a photograph, we still want you to send us information on the amount of narcotics apprehended by your K9 so that we can add it to our statistics.

I have been in Law Enforcement for 18 years, and have been working Criminal Interdiction working a K9, since July 2000. I am currently employed by the West Baton Rouge Sheriff ’s Office assigned to the Criminal Patrol Division. Throughout my career while performing criminal interdiction, I have made several hundred felony narcotics arrests, which I have seized or primarily assisted in seizing:

Marijuana- 1050 pounds
Cocaine- 28 Kilograms
MDMA- 150 Pounds
Xanax Pills- 22,000
United States Currency $2,519,009.00

I retired my last K9, Jackson, from service in January 2011, which was a product of USK9 unlimited. My recent K9 is Gama, also from US K9 Unlimited. My seizure and apprehension totals along with Gama since January 2011 are as follows:

Located 3 aftermarket false compartments
Cocaine- 11 Kilos
Heroin- 1 Kilo
United States Currency- $415,620.000
2 stolen vehicles

Along with and initiated vehicle stop and pursuit, apprehended two suspects who had recently committed a murder and attempted murder and fleeing from the state of Florida.
