Handler Courses

For police officers, we also offer a US K9 police dog handler program for law enforcement personnel. We train you in the proper handling and how to work effectively with your dogs. Our training programs are customized for each department's needs. US K9's Handler Training is unrivaled in the industry as one of the most detailed and comprehensive Canine (Dog) Handler Training Schools in the USA. We now offer a 4 week, 8 week or 13 week handlers course.

Trainer Courses

We offer an individual K9 Trainers Program. This state-of-the-art Training will be supervised by canine consultant Roger Abshire who is currently a consultant for various Government Agencies & Police Departments Nationwide. This Program of Instruction will be covered in the Classroom as well as Practical Application in the field. The course will require 600 Hours being a 13 week program.

Dog Training Academy History

Certified by Professional Dog Schools in all areas of police dog training, Roger has completed over 3000 hours of classroom and practical training. He has received specialized education in police service dog training methods from top K9 schools in the United States, as well as European police service canine training techniques from both the Royal Dutch and German Police. Roger has combined all of these learned training techniques and has developed into one of the most elite K9 training methods utilized in the States today.

With over a quarter of a century of domestic and foreign expertise as a canine handler and trainer, Roger has achieved such accomplishments as being a canine competition judge, an expert witness in court, a consultant to both state and government agencies as well as a highly sought after working dog team evaluator.

Roger has established and incorporated US K9 Unlimited in Kaplan, Louisiana. This company specializes in the procurement and training of Police Service dogs for State and Local Law Enforcement as well as Federal Government Agencies.
